"The Thief" is specially designed to allow you to take a sample of wine or beer in your sanitized Thief, drop in your hydrometer for a reading, then return the sample to the fermenter.

A special valve at the bottom keeps the liquid from flowing out, until you touch the plastic pin to the container, allowing the contents to empty.

This model is our preference, but we often use our Sample Jar as well.
